A Scrap in Time Part III - Coffee & Crepes

The past 4 months we’ve been working, planning, and doing alot of waiting! Watching the changes take place in the front left corner of the store has been super exciting! And finally we’re about ready to open the mystery behind the white walls to the public.

It’s time!!! The 3rd and final addition is almost reality! Coffee & crepes are coming to Beth’s Creations in a matter of weeks...

The First Dirt Piles

Shortly after settling into our new location we turned our thoughts towards the coffee corner we’d been dreaming up!

March 5 we applied for a building permit and after receiving it a week later we were ready to make the first changes! This included digging a hole for the drain, plumbing, electrical, & framing.

Inspection #1 came and we passed with flying colors.

Now we could settle down, clean up the dirt and start the next stage! Stage 2 had us drywalling which really helped put things in perspective! After Inspection #2 the dust clouds started rolling as we spackled and were hardly settled before the paint rollers were transforming the walls from dirty drywall to pristine white.

(by the way construction makes lots of trash! Our trashman was in for a surprise one morning...)

Passing Predicaments

A walk-up window was part of the blue print, and it seemed simple at first.... Just knock out some block and put the window in, Right? Well, it took a second installation before the inspection was passed, maybe this wasn’t so simple after all!

And then wallpaper arrived in the mail... We oohed & ahhed appropriately, and couldn’t wait to add the trendy look to our wall! Tip for the day: Stick-on wall paper isn’t quite as hassle free as it sounds... many tries, much drama, and after raising our blood pressure to a dangerous level we had it on! And it did actually look fabulous!

New Arrivals

At this point in the process things started showing up... Exciting things like: flooring, cupboards, appliances, & the shiny silver espresso machine!

These items were installed with in a few days of arriving. Bringing us even closer to the real deal!

Odds & Ends

An assortment of tasks needed to be completed in order to finish up the job. Things like shopping excursions for paper supplies and syrups, taking our food safety tests, sampling food & testing recipes for fabulousness!

Our Theme

Initially, the decision for a theme had to be made. In my mind it was this fuzzy idea of lots of white, black & leather accents, and with REAL plants. Numerous trips to the green-house plus lots of decor runs happened over the months until the ultimate look was achieved.

We also added a theme quote for the shop which will be displayed on a canvas in our dining area.

Little Details

If you happen to visit our cozy corner check out the journal of inspiration. Read the notes of inspo left by others then leave your own!

Start deep conversations with your besties with the help of our conversation cards on each table.

The Food

And now, the most important part! Coffee & Crepes, what we’ll have on our menu!

An Invitation

We all like to be invited to a party! Well, we’re inviting you to stop by anytime and join our party for awhile! There’s plenty of room, lots of food, & a good chat waiting; you just need to take the time!
