"Lord, Be Our Delight"

Some items that we feature here at Beth’s Creations are the ‘Daily Grace’ Bible studies. My hope with this blog post is to get you excited about deeper study in God’s Word, with or without a study help. We are to make Him our delight, and from personal experience, surface reading hardly gets you there. These studies are perfect for personal or group study. I believe the heart of the writers behind each study is to inspire in you a deeper love for God and His Word.
I’ll start with this because highlighters can actually help your mind stay more organized and feel less overwhelmed while reading God's Word. So often we want to highlight special, or specific verses. This is perfectly fine as long as we don't take these verses out of context and try to use them as quick fixes. This book introduces several different highlighting methods. Find a system that works for you, where you can intentionally dig deep into Scripture. "The goal is not a beautifully marked up Bible, but to be captivated by the beauty of the Gospel" P.S. Find some good highlighters that won't bleed through pages. Gel wax is fantastic, or even color pencils.
Are you new to the Christian faith, looking for answers to those questions about God, Jesus, & the Bible. This study will encourage you to ask questions and explore Christianity without judgment. Maybe you’ve been a Christian for a while, but in your mind the basics of Christianity have become dull and distant, and you subconsciously wonder “why am i even doing this?” This study...is perfect for new believers, or seasoned believers who want to rediscover the wonder of their faith, or anyone who has questions about the core beliefs of Christianity. You need a firm foundation upon which your faith can flourish.

I’m certain you’ve heard the term theology before, and perhaps thought it sounded complicated. But listen, your theology of God matters so so very much. It’s literally what you believe about God and His character, and this dictates your response to life’s situations, or personal failures. Most importantly, it impacts your love for our Heavenly Father and neighbors (the greatest commandment of all time). Therefore, make sure your theology is based on scripture and well thought-out.
Familiarize yourself with the attributes of God, and understand in depth the huge importance behind the phrase God spoke to Moses...”I Am Who I Am.” God never stops reavealing Himself to all who seek Him, and the more we expect to see Him, He will show Himself to us. Dive into all the ways God has revealed Himself in the past to His children. Find yourself encouraged & overwhelmed (the good kind) by His character, His purpose and His plan for all people. Learn how to better trust “the Great I Am” , the one who saved us, shone light on our darkness, and Who’s forgiveness removes Satan’s stongholds in our lives.

Want to read the entire Bible cover to cover?...while actually understanding what you're reading, and why it matters in the story of Scripture?? These 4 volumes create a year long Bible study. They will help you connect every chapter of the Bible to the overarching story that Scripture tells from Genesis to Revelation. You will see the importance of every chapter of the Bible—even the confusing, difficult, and complex ones.

This study is designed to teach on the gospel of Jesus Christ through retelling the life of Moses. Exodus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy show how Moses, the tabernacle, and the wilderness journey were pictures of the promises fulfilled in Jesus Christ. Journey to Freedom takes an in-depth look at typology, a concept that identifies people, events and objects as forerunners of the final saving work of God’s Son. This study definitely isn’t for everyone, but I was filled with so much joy and hope over our Father using ordinary and imperfect people, as part of His children’s deliverance.
What defines you? Do you long to be more confident in your identity? Think about the different titles that characterize your sense of self: relational status, skills, work, etc. You might say, “I am a mother, an artist, clerk, teacher, etc.” Looking deeper, you may even find negative beliefs: “I am a failure,” or “I am not worthy.” Identity must be rooted in the right thing. Knowing who you are, shapes your character, values, and how you navigate the world, relationships, work, literally everything. A wrong understanding of your identity can cause you to live a life always battling fear, insecurity, and uncertainty. God, the Maker of heaven and earth is your Creator. He has given you a name. He knows you intimately. Through Christ, you are a child, heir, slave, and saint. He is your solid ground, and His salvation transforms your identity.

How do we trust God through seasons of waiting and suffering? What do we do when it seems that we have been forgotten in our waiting? It is at these times and at every other time that we must run to the Lord knowing... He is a refuge for our souls. A Walk Through Psalms 31-60 ...will show you why you can trust God in seasons of waiting and suffering. As believers, we are called to worship the Lord. But how does this look in our everyday lives? How do we worship God in every season, including seasons of pain and suffering? Find your heart encouraged to give God glory and to spread His glory over the earth as we share the good news of Jesus Christ. Scripture memorization, as well as a hymn inspired by one of the psalms from each week in this study will encourage deeper worship. Choose to rest in the might and holy character of God. Be reminded of God’s love, the hope of the gospel, and the greatness of God, who is worthy of our praise.
How can we grow in our relationship with God? If we want to seek God, what should we say, do, and pray? Does God want to hear our honest prayers and pleas? Is He truly near when hardship hits and struggles seem nonstop? This “Walk Thru Psalms” reveals a collection of songs and poems that were written to express the full range of human emotion to God. From these examples, we learn how to walk with God through every season and circumstance. This study explains the context and purpose of the psalms to help you understand and apply them to your everyday life. Be reminded that in all of life’s highs and lows—God is faithful and good. Learn to honestly express your fears, worries, joys, and concerns to the Lord through prayer, and find rest in His presence no matter your circumstances
I am at rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. Psalm 62:1 Do you find it hard to rest, no matter what season of life you’re in? In the world we live in, it seems almost impossible to escape weariness and busyness. We all crave rest, but life is full of work, schedules, and stress that barely leave room for it. God made us for rest, and made rest for us. From Eden to Eternity, Scripture points us to God's plan of liberation, where all of His creation will experience everlasting rest. Our entire world, including creation, is crying out for permanent rest and renewal. But the rest we are searching for is not found in a place, but a person. Find true rest in Jesus Christ by releasing your burdens to Him.
May we all say: The LORD is My Delight! “When we read the Bible, we should be reading to learn God's character and his desire for us. Over and over in Scripture we are commanded to study God's Word, and yet many Christians only interaction with God's Word is from Sunday sermons, or inspirational reading that hardly mentions Scripture." Getting into God’s Word daily isn’t something you should be doing to 'check' it off your list. This isn’t coming from someone who never does that, trust me, but if that’s all it is, maybe take a bit more time and listen to a commentary on what you just read. A bible dictionary close by to look up words you don't quite understand is helpful. Also, pay some attention to details, often thats where we see God...in what we view as insignificant. Or...stop by our store (or website) and pick up a study help. One of my favorites are the book studies. The historical context included brings new light to so many areas of the bible. There’s nothing more more fascinating than finding fresh inspiration in a book of the Bible you always considered quite dry. Some of the book studies include... Esther, Ecclesiastes, Philippians, Colossians etc.
